We are currently living in a touchless society. So how do we keep in touch with our clients, potential leads, and our company’s general audience if we can’t easily meet face-to-face with them? Will it just happen organically, or does it take intentionality? Do we need to be the one creating the connection, or will clients just come to us?
In our digital age, we have plenty of avenues to stay connected: phone, email, video chat, and social media, just to name a few. However, do the interactions on these platforms propel our clients to repeat this interaction or avoid it in the future? What image are we portraying—a company that understands our clients or one that is only focused on our company’s bottom line?
I assume we all want the same thing…a great connection with our clients! However, in practical terms, it is not always the easiest thing to do! But it can be!
Here are three ways we can create positive connections in our ever-changing digital landscape:
Discover Our Target Audience:
In order to truly connect with our clients, we need to know who our audience is. That sounds obvious, right? But how many companies have taken the time to create an ideal customer profile? How many companies have then taken that profile and molded their content to fit that persona? To know our audience, we need to know their demographics, values, interests, and challenges.
Create Specifically Curated Copy:
By knowing who our target audience is, we are then able to curate copy that grabs their attention, forms a connection with them, keeps them engaged with our company, and demonstrates our mastery of the subject. Do most people choose a fledgling company that seems to be inexperienced in their field or one that is obviously succeeding and dominating their area of expertise? I think you know the answer to this one…
Maintain a Consistent Communication Schedule:
So, knowing our audience, showing them that we care, and creating copy that engages them is enough, right? In that exact moment…yes! However, living in our overly-stimulated digital world, will they remember our company in a couple weeks if we go dark and don’t communicate with them? No! Creating and maintaining a consistent communication schedule will be paramount to keeping our clients’ attention and business!
At The Inspired Copy, my desire is to help my clients strengthen their own brand and connect with their audience. Over the next few weeks, I will be diving deeper into each of these three topics! I know I want to connect with my own clients better, and I’m sure you do too! However, you don’t have to wait for me to complete this mini-series. If you need help right now creating specifically curated copy that grabs your audience’s attention, I would love to talk with you!
